Thirsty Thursday: Bronx Brewery Rye Pale Ale
Brewery adventures are the best adventures in my opinion. If I had all the free time in the world, I’d hop from brewery to brewery, speaking with brewmasters and trying all sorts of different beers. I’m pretty sure the reason I haven’t won the lottery yet is because the good lord knows I’d spend
it all a fair amount on hoppy delights. Some girls like new purses, I like new beers.
My friend, Jake, once scolded me for only ordering IPAs whenever we’d go out. I met Jake in Denver and he quickly became one of my favorite people. I could always count on him to accompany me to any brewery at any time of day. See, Jake knows a ton about beer and he’s always willing to chat about it. He’s also always willing to scold me, as I mentioned, when I don’t break out of my comfort zone. This is particularly important when it comes to the whole cicerone thing.
Since Jake now lives way too far away from me, I’ve had to politely ask other folks to join me in brewery adventures. Lucky for me, Colleen and Lisa are both totally into beer so it’s really not that hard to lure them into my brewery hopping ways.
I was excited to have them join me at Bronx Brewery for the first time recently and we had a blast. I tasted several brews before settling on their rye pale ale. My rye pale ale loyalty will always and forever go to Terrapin but Bronx did a dang fine job. Aggressive, bold and herbal, I’ll gladly take this Bronx brew any day of the week.
